Ylang Ylang means "flower of flowers" and is extracted by steam distillation from the flowers of a tropical tree that grows in the Indian Ocean.
When Ylang Ylang is distilled, the first fraction is separated out and called Ylang Ylang Extra. The next fraction is known as Ylang Ylang I, then II and finally III. Ylang Ylang I contains more of the heavier, floral base notes. Ylang Ylang III tends to go into soaps and everyday products.
Absolute Aromas has selected this exquisite Ylang Ylang from the Comores Island in the Indian Ocean, where the climate and soil is ideal for excellent quality Ylang Ylang.
For a sensual massage blend, mix 2 drops of Ylang Ylang and 2 drops of Sandalwood in 10ml of Sweet Almond oil. Exotic, the Absolute Aromas aromatherapy blend is based on this combination.
